Fred Harper, P.E. will share his experience leading the inspection of the I-40 Hernando de Soto Bridge over the Mississippi River in Memphis, TN including the discovery of a critical finding in a key bridge member. This forced the closure of Interstate 40 to all traffic for a period of 3 months while an emergency design and repair was completed. The presentation will cover the inspection, closure, design, material testing, and impact on the transportation network.

Fred leads the Bridge Design Team in Little Rock for Michael Baker International.

Registered engineers will receive a 1.0 hour PDH for their attendance. Lunch will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members. We hope to see you there!

We meet once a month - usually on the last Wednesday of each month at noon.  The exceptions to this would be - in February we do the Joint Engineers Luncheon, we skip October because of the section meeting, and we skip the months of November and December.
