Speakers: John Hunter and Greg Fuller with Asphalt Systems, Inc.
Presentation Title: Asphalt Pavement Preservation, Gilsonite Modified Fog Seals. Safe, Proven, Effective.
John Hunter and Greg Fuller with Asphalt Systems, Inc. will speak on asphalt surface treatments that are commonly used for asphalt preservation as well as the Gilsonite Modified asphalt products their company manufactures.
One product is a Gilsonite emulsion treatment top coated with aggregate, containing 20% Gilsonite. This is a high performance fog seal treatment, very safe due to the top coating of aggregate. The other is a Gilsonite Solvent based Rapid Cure treatment, top coated with aggregate, which is traffic ready in 1-3 hours! This treatment contains 40% Gilsonite. Both treatments are one-pass treatments, no sweeping or vacuuming, all the aggregate embeds in the liquid asphalt. These treatments are proven roadway treatments, both with over 30 years servicing the city/county market. When road budgets matter, the key to stretching those budgets is finding the right preservation treatment.

John is entering his twenty-fourth year in the construction industry with both practical contracting experience and working directly for industry manufacturers. John has worked exclusively in the asphalt pavement maintenance and preservation industry since 1999, working as a contractor and material supplier for DOT, commercial, aviation, and private sector projects. John is entering his twelfth year with Asphalt Systems, Inc, a global supplier of Gilsonite modified asphalt emulsions. John’s current responsibilities include business development, working directly with agencies including cities and counties, DOT’s, and State Aviation Department’s developing pavement maintenance programs as well as plans and specifications for current projects. John is also involved with ASI and its partners in the area of product development as ASI expands its current line of GSB products entering new asphalt pavement preservation markets. John is also involved developing a contractor network for the application of the ASI line of products. John received his Bachelors degree from East Central University located in Ada, OK. John currently lives outside Oklahoma City with his wife Casey and son Heath.
Greg has over 21 years in the pavement maintenance industry. Greg’s experience includes working as a material supplier and contractor for DOT, commercial, aviation and private sector projects. In 2019, Greg joined Asphalt Systems, Inc., a global supplier of Gilsonite modified asphalt emulsions. Greg’s current responsibilities include business development, working directly with agencies including cities and counties, DOT’s and State Aviation Department’s developing pavement maintenance programs as well as plan and specifications for current projects in a nine-state region.
